Mom and I want to start a family worship service once a week.
I think it would be fun if we watched cartoon Bible stories. We hope you will share your thoughts, impressions, and questions. What do you think?
Yeah, it seems fun.
"I agree, but can we keep on doing it?"
“Is it like the Bible story that mom told me when I was going to sleep?”
"Yes, but I'm sure it would be more fun for you."
“I think I would love it because I like stories and picture books!”
"Mom always falls asleep in the middle of stories, right? "
"Yes, she does!"
Jesus answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’.”

“It's a story we know very well. Tell us what you liked best about this story.”
“Jesus cared about even those who were poor, and weak people, so I respect what Jesus did, but I can’t do the same things He did.”
“James, you are an honest boy. I’m proud of you.”
“Well, what impressed me the most is that Jesus loves children like us!”
“Grace, you made a good point. No, Jesus didn't judge people by their appearance or what they can do. God looks inside our hearts.”
I love God because He made a beautiful world, and Jesus helped many sad people.”
“Wow, all of you did a great job! Yes, God made the universe perfect, but did people obey Him?
Why didn’t people obey Him?
Because people have made mistakes ever since Adam and Eve.
That’s right. How about us?
The Bible says that all human beings are sinners. We make mistakes, too, because the gene of sin is passed on. But I wish Adam and Eve had not disobeyed God. It makes me frustrated.”
“Wow, Grace! That’s awesome! You talked about genes.”
“But there are good people and bad people, too. We are good people, right Mom?
Because we believe in God?
“What do you think, James, about Sophia’s question?”
“Umm… Well, it is difficult to explain because Jesus forgave our sins, but we are not perfect, and still we do bad things over and over. Then, what should we do!?”
“Jesus is the only good man because he is the Son of God. I know I am not perfect, but I am OK, too, because Jesus loves me.”
“Thank you so much. You did a great job. I learned from all of you.”
"I appreciate each of your thoughts. Now let me try to summarize a few things.
We often feel that this person is good, so we should be friends with them, or that person has a nasty personality, so we want to avoid them. I am a pastor, but I feel that way many times, so I feel ashamed of myself and ask forgiveness from God.
Even among our family members or friends, we do not want to help each other sometimes. And we often do not apologize.
Jesus really does love everyone, healthy or sick, rich, or poor, good or bad. Dad, do you have anything you want to add?”
“Thank you, Mom. We can't quite do what Jesus did, but in our situations, let's ask for God ’s help so that we can do what Jesus did “
“Thank you very much. Dad told us something important.
Let’s ask Jesus for help. Sophia, can I ask you to pray a short prayer?"
"Me? Ok, mom. I will. Dear God, we watched the video today. We want to help people who are in need. Please give us the courage to do this. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen."
